Wanna be a bit more original? So why not replacing WordPress default smilies on your blog? Here’s a recipe about how to do it, plus links to some replacement smilies kits.
Here's some smilies packs that you can download and use on your WordPress blog:
- PNGs Smilies for WordPress (Note that you'll have to convert the smilies to .gif)
- Emoticons Pack for WordPress
- Pack Emoticones Post-It
- Skype Smilies with WordPress (Note that you'll have to rename the smilies to make it match WordPress smilies names)
- WordPress Yahoo/MSN Messenger Style Smileys Plugin (Note, you'll have to rename the files to make it match WordPress smilies names)
Once you chose one and uncompressed it, use to favorite FTP client and navigate throught the /wp-includes/images/smilies/ directory. Upload your new smilies there. This will replace original WordPress smilies, so make sure to backup before, in case you'd like to switch back to the default smilies pack later.
That's all. Enjoy your new smileys!

I disabled smileys at my blog. Text smiley is hardcore, those later graphics additions are fluff.
